I think Harbaugh is coming but let's brace for the worst in this thread.

I see no improvement in the D as Miss St. was not supposed to even have that great of an offense (52 points!) and we're losing Mouton and possibly Martin. Also, if we are going to improve very much we'd of seen it by now as the D is practically sophmores. RR must also have no answers himself as he spent zero time with the D at the practice I attended last week.

Offense seems to be getting worse or at least play calling is. When I was at the game Saturday I saw LB's look at our formation and signal for a c.b. blitz weak side time and time again leaving Hemmingway completely open and destroying the play. The L.B.'s from the the other team echoed this and said we were "predictable". We've regressed offensively at the end of this season and now that maybe all the film is out on DRob we are even worse next year on the offensive side of the ball. Also, losing Dee Hart and not having a top 25 recruiting class makes things more dubious.

I think we have the lowest attendance at the Big House in the modern era of Michigan football. A good barometer was that we just played in our first bowl game in three years and didn't sell out all our tickets. Perhaps the only fans attending will be Michigan Man (Check out my profile pick MM. I have a Tom Brady pic there you might like!) and Osu Nut car pooling out from Cleveland. M.M. to support his hero RR and Nut to revel in the destruction of all things good.

I would think at least we will be able to kick a 25 yard field goal next year. This is perhaps the one bright spot.

I'd like to read some of your hypotheticals.

I hope so, I could get good season tickets:)

RR is not coming back and RR knows it.

I'm pretty excited; some of those kickers were hitting 30 yard field goals with some consistency during half time warm-ups.

Even if we don't get Harbaugh, I don't see a benefit of keeping RR around. His seat is going to be even hotter next year, and unless there's significant improvement, RR uncertainty is going to chase even more recruits away.

Look, RR has a proven track record of obstinacy. Ask any WVU fan and they'll tell you- the bubble screen is a dog shit play. Yet RR runs it... over and over and over and over and over again.

The offense is predictable; coaches have it and RR figured out, and it apparently requires way too many pieces in place to be successful. Scuttlebutt is that Denard Robinson wants to transfer and, after the weather in Jacksonville on Sunday, I wouldn't blame him if he did. He and RR were at each other's throats on the sidelines during the game, and I can't say I blame Denard there either. He's proven himself to be a good-natured kid; he's lost confidence in his coaches, the coaches who call ineffectual plays, who scheme a predictable offense, and who are basically mortgaging this kid’s future.

The whole pro-RR argument has been centered around his offense, but any objective person will tell you that the offense, when up against a quality defense, fails. Any objective person will tell you RR needs to go.

I really hope he is gone next year. I was on the fence but am no longer.

WANTED: Head Coach for college football team. Experienced non-cryer a plus. Must be adaptable, and able to coach a competent, well-rounded team.

ESPN reported that both DB and RR are back in their offices today....I'm curious how close in proximity their offices are to each other and what type of "banter", if any, is going on today between the two..

Read that. Not shocked or anything. Brandon has said, over and over, that he has a time table, and he's sticking to it. To break from the timetable, even in the aftermath of Michigan's worst bowl loss of all time, would appear to be knee-jerk. Brandon will meet with RR later this week, and we'll hear something then.

If I was RR at this point I would just go to DB and say "pack or unpack?"

Rich: "So how'd I do on Saturday boss?" D.B. (on phone with Harbaugh): "What should I tell him Jim?" "Tell him his work with Odoms has been impressive this year."

I don't see any way possible keeping RR is an option. Even with my fear of Harbaugh and other big time guys saying "F-U" to UM and my bigger fear of becoming the coaching carossel that ND is I still don't think you can keep RR.

The whole atmosphere is so negative now anyway. It is not working for RR and not working for UM. I don firmly believe the next hire needs to be longterm. As in you get rid of RR and the next guy should be a 5 year minimum to hopefully 10+ year coach. One of the lusters of UM football is they give their coaches time. This job is held in high regards but one more coaching debacle and it won't be.

Just curious,,,,Flex500 mentioned that
"One of the lusters of UM football is they give their coaches time".....who was the last UM coach fired due to performance issues,,,,Moeller wasn't fired because of on the field performance,,,so would that have been Bump Elliott ?? If so,,,,that's a LONG time !!

exactly...and I could be wrong but I believe not counting richyrod only one or two coaches EVER in michigan football history have been let go in 3 or less years. Just doesn't happen at UM.

This week should be interesting to say the least. DB has to be putting the full court press on for JH. I wonder if DB's chances would have ben better earlier in the process say right after the oSU blowout ?

The speculation is boiling over.

Anyway I think he goes after JH, if that falls through he goes after Miles. If that is not an option then it is a toss up to me whether you bring Hoke in or retain RR with a new defensive staff for a 4th year. (I actually like the idea of Moeller taking the defense or Shannon)

Just checked out the history of U of M Football coaches. Other than Moeller and RR, you have to go back to Coach Elton (Tad) Wieman who coached the team in 1927 and 1928 and had a record of 9-6-1. All other coaches after Wieman were there a minimum of 9 years. Bump Elliott(1959-1968) had a record of 51-42-2 before he made way for Bo.

I would prefer RR to leave. However the only way I would even consider him staying is with an entirely new defensive staff.

I'm close to your stance but I would prefer RR to stay if we can't get JH. Definitely new D staff if RR stays.
