There is no Olympic section on here so I am posting this here.

Rulon Gardner who many may remember as the corn fed Amurican who beat the 3 time gold medalist in OT in the 2000 Olympics has ballooned to 474 Lbs. in the last 10 years. He has been through a lot since his amazing victory and to get himself back in shape he is joining the Biggest Loser to beat his weight gain.

I will never forget the excitement and amazement across the United States when he won that gold medal. It was a win that was never expected and its a major part of American Olympic history. I wish the guy good luck in beating his obesity. Its a really hard taask to lose that much weight but I imagine if anyone could do it he can.

He beat that Russian that never lost - or even came close to losing. I remember that match - amazing. He also had an accident of some kind if I remember where he almost lost a leg or a foot to frost bite. He is also the wrestler that after his final match took off his shoes, left them in the center circle and walked away. I hope he gets is life back on track. Wrestlers are usally very tough mentally - I know I used to wrestle and still follow it closely.

The Russian he beat in 2000, hadn't lost in 13 years. That win for Rulon, in my opinion was very similar to the "Miracle on Ice." In that, the Russian was dominant, and not expected to be challenged. I believe it was actually the Russian that left his shoes on the mat.

Rulon was snowmobiling alone when he had an accident and suffered the frost bite after he retired from wrestling. I believe he lost some toes. He was also in some sort of plane crash.

I'm very biased, as I'm a big wrestling fan. Hope Rulon kicks some @$$!!!
