Might be one of the more exciting games I've ever seen -- don't see a safety every day in the NFL, nor a 100 yrds INT return, by a DL of all people!
Great passing, not much running, great defense and some AMAZING catches!
I thought Breston had a great game, and nearly broke that punt that obviously would have changed the game significantly. Woodley, as always, came up HUGE, and Foote had some great tackles as well!
Although he's a OSU d-bag, I have to give props to Santonio Holmes, as MVP -- one of the best performances by a WR in the big game that I've ever seen!
Great to see many of the star players being from the Big 10, and Michigan and OSU in particular.
Great game, although, just like the college coverage, way too many stops and commercials for my taste, and too many penalties -- seems like every play was either reviewed, or followed by a time-out, or a penalty.

Gotta disagree,... I thought there were fewer penalties than usual, though it could be my imagination. Wonder what the statistics will show on that debate... more or less penalties in this game..
As for MVP, gotta agree that Holmes should get it, but because he is a tOSU D-bag, I will add that if it weren't for that one touchdown catch... he wouldn't be.:D
Also, Stevie Breaston had a great game, especially for where he was taken in the draft.

I thought it was an incredible game, so exciting! I am somewhat biased towards the Steelers so I was happy to see them win but the Cardinals played an amazing game. Fitzgerald is unbelievable! Yes Holmes was awesome and I hate to say it but y that same token Woodley was as good or better than Harrison tonight. Besides the one really great play by Harrison, Woodley played better throughout the whole game

Great job Santonio. You deserved the MVP award. With the exception of all the penalties called - it was a very exciting Super Bowl. I thought Breston played very well tonight. He has Steeler fans holding their breath on every kickoff and punt. Woodley and Harrison may not have got to the QB very much tonight - but they seemed to wear out the offensive line of Arizona. I don't think either guy took a play off. Michigan and Ohio State was represented well in this game.

Yes. I thought it was thee most exciting Super Bowl since uh..last year. Seriously though it was the best Super Bowl I've seen and I've been watching since 1979. Michigan men were all over the field making plays. Another indictment of the Carr regime. Having all this talent and squandering it.

So much talent wasted by Carr was all I could think during this game.

We finally agree - Holy Crap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot get over how much better Woodley is as a pro. I actually thought the same thing during the game.

I kept thinking the same thing throughout the game both Woodley and Breaston, look better now, makes you wonder.

Honestly I think Santonio Holmes is a better pro as well. He was solid at Ohio State - but he was not a huge difference maker. I think having Hines Ward taking him under his wing was a HUGE plus for the Steelers. He was not that explosive at OSU.

The biggest beneficiary of Hines Ward on the team is Holmes, for sure. It's mature of Holmes to listen to Ward and follow his guidance. So, though the Steelers have certainly benefited from this, no doubt Holmes is the biggest winner...

I thought this was one of the better SB's I have seen in my life. The penalties started pretty heavy but tapered off after the first 20 minutes, except for that steelers drive where the cards had 3 unsportsmanlike. Breaston showed some really good hands I thought and made a case to move up to #2 next season. Grats to Holmes on his MVP award.
My only gripe was the very end. I thought it was pretty clear warner's arm was coming forward, I thought the cards should have had one more play. It's a shame to have that kind of game for 59 minutes then blow a call in the end. Otherwise though, I thought the refs called a pretty good game. The one holding on the cards where he barely grabbed his jersey for 1/2 second was fishy but that was about it.
All in all, I thought it was a very entertaining super bowl, and it was fun to watch until the end, which is all you can ask for in a championship game!

Not that it would of made a difference but I was very very surprised that the final fumble was not reviewed. Normally in a game of that importance it is automatic in the last two minutes - I thought.

One thing this Superbowl showed me is there definitely is a place for mobile QBs with decent arms in the NFL. I can't remember how many times BenR was able to scramble around enough to find an open receiver. I can definitely see Tebow in the same mold someday, he has similar measurables, including FB size.

Big Ben is not going to win any 40 yard dashes - but he is strong. His size and balls are what makes him a good leader. He keeps plays alive because he just will not go down unless you really hit him. You can only cover a WR for so long - no matter how good your defense is. That last throw to Holmes was as dumb a throw as it was a great throw. He had a for sure FG in his pocket to force overtime - then throws into triple coverage. If that ball would of been picked off Steeler Nation would of wanted his head on a stick. But the great QB's don't think like that. They are wired to make those throws. Sometimes the difference between a pat on the back and a kick in the ass is 6 inches.

Obviously, no one can make the claim that if the fumble had been ruled an incomplete pass, that it wouldn't have changed the game. You have to remember that Pittsburg was flagged 15 yards for taking off their helmets. This would have put the ball around the 35 yard line with 0:05 seconds left. Anything could have happened. Bottom line: I think the NFL dropped the ball by not reviewing that play.

Not only was there a 15 yard penalty for taking off their helmets, but the refs blew a terrible call, by not penalizing Santonio Holmes for using the ball as a prop. That's an automatic 15 yards. That's two terribly missed calls at the end of the game.

TPI,
Absolutely, that call (against Holmes) would have given the Cardinals better field position on the kickoff, and I do think that final play should have been more formally reviewed - heck, they seemed to be reviewing all kinds of plays during the game, and for them not to review that one - it just didn't seem correct.

In my opinion, the Pittsburg win gets the " * " in my book.

TPI,
I hate to say I agree - but, unfortunately, I do. The reviews occurred throughout the game, and for the refs not to do a thorough review of the "next to last" play of the game - well, I just can't understand that.
And, with the way that flags were being thrown, I do find it difficult to believe that no ref saw what Holmes did - I do believe it's an "automatic" 15 yard penalty on the kickoff - no questions asked.
There are some who don't like replay, but I think we saw its value when the red flag was tossed out by Arizona. Personally, I don't understand why you lose a timeout when you challenge and the challenge proves you're right (and the play is overturned).
Well, we do have signing day to look forward to...
