Well, it is unfortunate, but is befitting that our beloved forum would suffer much the same fate as our beloved football team. I was in can cun when I tried to log in to the site and got that weird turrist page. Thought to myself, wow, at least i'm on the beach.

So, anyways. This season was not as much fun as we had all hoped it would be. We now head into the worst time of the year--no bowl, bad weather and those focking holidays.

So, this is what I want to know: Will we be able to knock off Western Michigan next year?

Well, they have Tiller back next year for his senior year. He had over 3,500 yds passing with 34 TDs and 8 picks. He's no threat to run, so that's good.

Unfortunately, West also returns for his senior year. He was their top rusher with nearly 1,000 yds this year.

The only good news is that they're losing 3 of their top 5 receivers, including their top 2, which accounted for about 50% of their yds through the air.

So, as I said in another thread, I hate how Martin has scheduled the past few years. We should be playing Eastern Mich first. A 'W' to start the season will be a huge confidence booster.

me neither.

Western is going to be a very good team with experienced players next year. Everybody they play should be worried about them. They have the potential to pull a Ball St. next year. They have the opportunity to do some damage in the Big Ten next year as they play UM, MSU, and Indiana.

Even if this was the 2007 UM team next year, you've still got to be a little worried. You have to respect WMU's talent.

TPI,

I respect every team that lines up against us on Saturday's in the fall. No doubt, WMU surprised some people with their play against Illinois at Ford Field in November.

Michigan's got 9 months (really 10 months) to prepare for this game and next season. We've got a lot to work on and a lot going for us. This game may be a tough opener, but - this is a game we should do well with. So, I'm confident that RR and the staff will have the team prepared in a way so they "deserve to win" the game, based on their practice and play.

I won't even touch on ND right now. One practice at a time, one play at a time... And, a lot of time working on S&C with Barwis and studying the playbook.

These days there are no garaunteed easy wins in CFB. Take a week off and see your team get upset. Teams in the MAC, Mountain West and other such conferences are becoming very dangerous.
