With signing day two days out, Sam talks about his gut feelings on Michigan's recruitees and takes your questions.

Sam's has a strong good feeling Denard Robinson, Adrain Whitty and Quinton Washington.

50/50 With Jeron Stokes with Illinois being the main factor

Pearlie Graves-Could go to Michigan, Tennessee or Texas Tech, with his family favoring Michigan

Dequinton Jones-50/50 for Michigan, even after his Tennessee visit

Marcus Hall-Eliminated Michigan and Miami over the weekend, it is between Tennessee and Ohio State

Marcus Mingo-between Alabama and LSU

Sam Montgomery-NC leads for him, but it is 50/50

Chances of Stokes with the Good Guys are much better than Q Wash at this point...

People are starting a semi-panic over Stokes since some bad news apparently broke out today. It's probably a combination of that and the fact that he was widely regarded to be Blue. We'll see I guess.

Yeah, word is the new UT staff has convinced him to recommit. Obviously he committed there for a reason, and if he is suddenly comfy with the new staff too, its gonna be tough to pull him. Also, Florida folks are wierdly, supremely confident that Robinson will pick the Gators, and Witty will be Blue.

I just hope we don't end up at the wrong end of the snake oil thing this year :(.

We'll see what happens on Wednesday. Even if UM doesn't get any more commitments, you gotta look at the positives. UM has addressed some major areas of need. They've added some very skilled players that can have an immediate impact. The 2010 class already has two very highly rated WRs. If UM can have a good year in '09 (8-4 or better), RR will no problem pulling in some major top talent. Guys will be knocking down RR's door just to get a chance to come to AA.

Just like the season has taught every UM fan, it's going to take time to get all the players in that RR needs. RR got quite a few of them this year.

I just hope we don't end up taking 5 questionable recruits just to fill out this class with 25. I would MUCH rather get some room for next years class (something like 16 open scholarships?), which given the opportunity could be USC-like.

I'd be fine with having a couple open slots saved for next year.

I look at it this way, after the season we had, I think RR did a fine job on getting the players that he did. If no one else commits, I still will be happy with the talent we have now because lord knows it's better than what we fielded last year with the seniors leaving.

I agree 100 percent I hope he doesn't water down the class with lesser players although I welcome a few sleepers. Players like Mike Hart, Jarret Irons weren't even 4 star recruits yet ended up being main Michigan players. Sometimes the lesser knowns work a little harder and can be coached. Some of the 5 stars are as good as they will ever be their senior year in high school.

I agree! 2010 recruits will be watching to see what kind of season U-M has this year. Look at North Carolina for a great case in point. If we have a decent year I think our 2010 class and beyond will be supreme. As for this year, really good class regardless. I think Stokes goes to UT, Montogmery eliminated us already, we keep Jones, Witty and Robinson come in package deal to U-M and Pearlie...Family wants him Blue, I hope more than think he will remain Blue. Washington I think wants to be Blue but is nervous about the distance. My gut tells me he stays home, though I hope not.

I don't think this class gets watered down with lesser players. More or less, all positions of need have been addressed (barring DT, which depends on Jones/Graves signing day antics). Further, it leaves the door open for early enrollees of the 2010 class, which would count against the 2009 limit (?).
