Justin Green to Illinois...

http://ohiostate.scout.com/2/836116.html

Justin Green has been the subject of internet rumors for nearly his entire commitment. On the eve of National Signing Day, BuckeyeSports.com has learned that Green will not be joining Ohio State.

After a recruitment that has taken a number of twists and turns, add one more chapter to the story of Justin Green.

On the eve of National Signing Day, the four-star cornerback prospect from Louisville (Ky.) Male has decided to switch his verbal commitment from Ohio State to Illinois.

"That's what I heard this afternoon," Male head coach Bob Redman told BuckeyeSports.com. "This afternoon he made that change."

Green had committed to OSU during the summer but spoke of his desire to take an official visit to Clemson. He took that trip in mid-January but then decided his decision was final.

However, when reached for comment by BuckeyeSports.com on Feb. 3, Green did not answer when asked if he was still planning on committing to OSU. Now it appears that he will be joining the Fighting Illini.

Redman said he did not know what went into Green's decision, saying he does not ask those kinds of questions. He could not confirm if Green took a rumored official visit to Illinois this past weekend.

A four-star prospect, the 5-11, 180-pound Green is rated as the No. 23 cornerback in the country by Scout.com. His de-commitment now gives the Buckeyes 25 members of their class of 2009.

Word is Zook said Green could play (and possibly start) at HB his first year. Now, the kid weighs 170 pounds and was being recruited at CB by most schools. Zook swooped in and told him what he wanted to hear and off he goes. I have no problem with a kid doing what he thinks is best, but maybe he could have made his decision a little earlier. I wish him the best but if he thinks a 170 HB is going to cut it in the B10 somebody needs to send him the Sam McGuffie bio. Of course with Zook it's possible that he has no intention of letting him be a RB and it's a bait and switch. Ahh college recruiting...10x's more sleazier than NFL drafting or free agency.

Zook told him he could play at RB. I guess he liked that. Bad move, IMO. He has very little NFL potential at RB. Corner suits him better and we produce them like clockwork.

Barnett, Clarke, and Brown are on board with us anyway.
