The NBA Playoffs are underway. Just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone follows the NBA, or at least the playoffs. Chicago's a solid team this year - I live in Chicago - but, really don't care much about professional basketball.

What do you think?

I used to follow it, until Lebron left Cleveland. Now it's not even a blip on my radar.

Last night was great. Lebron James is Jordan's bitch.

I am very pleased that the Mavs beat the Heat. No doubt about it. It will be very interesting to see if those three at Miami can ever learn to really play together.

And - as for LeBron's comments. I'm happy with my life - there are things that could be better - and, most of the problems I had yesterday, I still have today, and I will have tomorrow. LeBron James is one of the people on earth that I will NEVER look to for advice and guidance.

And - I only watched the last four minutes of game 6 - there were worth watching. Especially, to notice that the Heat weren't able to apply defensive pressure on the ball when they needed a turnover. I think the Heat are a great example of what's wrong with the NBA - and why I care so little for professional basketball.

I was very pleased to see Miami lose last night. While I do not blame James for leaving for another team the way they did it was reprehensible to say the least. So yes I did take joy in the Mavs win.

I did not like how James would not meet with teams who were interested in bringing him to their team. There is no doubt that Wade, Bosch and James colluded to play together and no other teams would really even be allowed any legitimate shot at getting them. I get it that they were free agents and they should be able to play wherever they decided too but it just all felt wrong.

The part that really got me was the whole James ESPN special on his decision, no other player in any sport has ever done that. Not only that but the whole over the top introduction of the 3 players together was ridiculous. The whole thing from beginning to end just seemed un-professional and nothing but entertainment and about them. So you don't mind when the accolades come your way but when people hate on you they "need to get a life"?
Sorry Lebron but you can't have your cake and eat it too. He needs to learn to eat his humble pie and learn from it instead of blaming everyone else. Since he can't blame his team mates he has to blame people taking joy in his sorrow as needing to get a life because they're losers. Yeah, we'll still have the same problems today as we had yesterday, life goes on but the very same can be said of you Lebron. Having money changes nothing, you still have your own issues Lebron. People like him think that having money makes them better or changes things for them, but at the end of the day they are still the same empty people inside. When the cheers all die Lebron, what are you left with?

Too bad he'll never read that and too bad it wouldn't make a difference to him anyways. Like TP all that matters to him is his own pride and popularity, when people turn against him he can only point fingers and run.

I wouldn't even put lebron james in the top 10 sports breakups, it just got more press than it should have because ESPN is shoved up his ass as usual. I despise the nba but always liked jason kidd so it was good to see him finally win one.

You must not live in Cleveland or the surrounding areas. The breakup was ugly and painful. When Gretsky left Edmintonit was not his own doing - the team traded him. LeBron turned his back on the city and state that watched him grow up. The bond was unique and the pain was deep. Looking back it always seemed like the city loved him much more then he loved it - but it still hurt none the less. The City of Cleveland is rejoicing over the Mavs victory. I bet the Mavs get a nice long standing ovation when they come to Cleveland next year.

guy was a free agent and took advantage of it, not something to hold a grudge about and cry over. its the face of modern day pro sports. we have carson palmer going through the same type of shit down here and I say do what you have to do, i'm not going to get pissed about it.

I agree that as a free agent he should have been allowed to go where he wanted but the whole way he blamed his team mates for losing on the way out, the utter contempt and arrogance he displayed and continues to display for fans, the entire "it's all about me act" during his free agency and all season and the entire look of Collusion between Wade, Lebron and Bosch just sickens me. It's an OSU mentality if you will, all that matters is winning so since we can't do it on our own we'll band together and no one can stop us.

To see it all co me to the halt it did was awesome. The fact they lost wasn't the big deal, it w the way they lost. All season they had been one of the 2 most tenacious defenses in. He league. In game 6 their real weaknesses were exposed: they only like to stop drives to the basket and have no interest in trying to stop jump shots ( I mean really, wide open 15' shots?) and once they got behind they just didn't seem to have the mental makeup or toughness to come back. For having such great players it was simply amazing to watch. Just a week ago Lebron was being proclaimed as possibly the greatest player ever.....now who thinks that?
