He is committing tomorrow (monday), according to TomVH over at mgoblog. Would be interesting to pull the top WR in Ohio :D.

Now, I'll be that guy, this is our 3rd X receiver commitment for 2010....out of 3 commits. Anyone know if we have tons of graduating WRs coming up?

Firstly, I wouldn't be surprised to lose one or two of them. They have a year to go and we have a full season to play. At WR, we have solid slot guys but we still need someone to emege as that #1 outside. I don't know if that will happen this year but next year could be "the year of the receiver"

I agree, it will be interesting to see if we manage to keep all three, the way I see it early commits = more time to decommit, but maybe I just feel bruised after last year.

What is encouraging about this crop so far is a) Jackson is a lock, being Coach Jackson's kid, b) Miller's mom is a UM alum, and he seemingly helped recruit Robinson, and c) Robinson committed despite knowing about Jackson and Miller's commitments, so its not like he is suddenly going to freak out ala Beaver about competition. I know, being optimistic, but why not?

Hmmm, not outstanding speed. Great size on him though. Great hands. He really uses his body well to shield off the receiver. Hell, if he's the top receiver out of Ohio for next year, I'm happy with the pull.

Looks like a good get. He seems solid right now.

I don't think UM will lose any of those guys. Robinson apparently talks to Ricardo Miller, and you know damn well Ricardo isn't decommitting. Obviously, Jackson isn't going to decommit because his pops is a coach. I think we hold on to all three of these guys. I don't think we offer any more WR though, even at the slot, unless the prospect is elite.

Good then maybe next year we could sign some elite linebackers

mgoblog has an interesting early list of prospects, and they're all damn good looking. At least some of them have reasonably strong ties/tilt towards UM.

Notably, one of the LB recruits Jewone Snow is the son of former UM guy Garland Rivers.

Yeah, I saw that page. Interesting stuff they have there. Never too early to start the 2010 recruiting I guess. I'm taking a break from following guys, but if a guy commits, I'll be sure to find out as much as I can about him.

Anyone that wants to see the page: click here. (http://mgoblog.com/content/monday-recruitin-35)

Also, Varsity Blue has a huge 2010 recruiting board already listed for those of you that can't get enough. It's quite informative. (http://www.umvarsityblue.com/2010/index.php)

How long before the "He's not really all that great" posts start coming in from Ohio?

I don't know much about this kid actually. I do know that Ohio State has been very WR heavy in the last two classes - that could be a reason. Did Ohio State even offer this kid or have an intrest in him ? The Buckeyes have recruited about 8 WR's in the last two classes.

Now you'd know all that if you ever spent time on a Buckeye website. Shoo!

In general, R Rod is obviously trying to beat OSU to the punch by offering a lot of the top kids in Ohio before Tress does.

With limited schollies this year we have to be more selective in our offerings. It appears tOSU has made the decision that Tyrone Williams is better than Jerald Robinson, and I'd have to agree. That doesn't mean Robinson isn't a very good player, but watch the videos of each of these players and then tell me who you prefer. Williams just has amazing size, good speed, great hands, and I'd be very surprised if he isn't the top WR in the state this coming year, and a top 10 WR nationally.

No knock on Robinson, just bad timing. He was told he wouldn't get an offer at this time and chose the sure thing. Not a bad choice for him.

OSU offered him upon learning he was going to commit to UM

Well, according to your bucknuts forum, people were pretty high on him, saying that he could be the #1 WR in the state. As far as tuos offering, they were saying that tuos was waiting until spring to evaluate him. Looks like Nut is partially right in that RR is getting after the recruiting right away, not waiting until spring.

UM has 9 WRs the last two classes and 3 already on board for 2010.

If watching last weeks recruiting I would not put to much into a kid saying yes this early - a lot can happen. What if Ohio State offers him and Tressy meets the parents and puts on the full court press, or Zook, or Weiss, or Miles, etc. This is way to early to think a 17 or 18 year kid will not change his mind. Maybe he will maybe he won't. If last week taught me anything it's that nothing is for sure till the ink is on the paper. The Buckeyes and Wolverines both lost players that they thought were sure thing done deals.

Nothing is certain until next Feb, but it's good to see that these kids are high on Michigan this early in the process.

Maybe Michigan is his best offer. Maybe he has a hand full of MAC offers - who knows. Im sure if he is as good as you say he is there will be a lot of schools making him offers.
