From BigTen Network site: Talking about celebration rules... they also mentioned this...
"The committee also approved a provision allowing both teams to wear colored jerseys in games when there is a clear contrast in color and only if both teams agrees. The agreement is also subject to conference approval."
I'd love to see M in blue jerseys in C-bus as well as OSU in red in AA. This is a GREAT idea in my opinion...
What are your thoughts?

I think it's a good idea. Let each team decide each year if they want to or not.

I don't really have a problem with it. I don't think it matters, although I do like 99% of team's home jerseys better than the white ones. I don't know if too many teams would be ok with it though. Breaking tradition and all.

I wouldn't have a problem with it as long as it doesn't pose any unforseen problems. Actually, wearing white jerseys can be an advantage in some cases. Especially on a hot, sunny day. You usually will get hotter with dark colored jerseys. I believe this is the reason the Miami Dolphins wear white jerseys at home a lot. Also, I think white will make you look bigger, while black makes you look slimmer. On the other hand, if your colored jersey makes you feel tougher or motivates you, then that could be an advantage too.

OK, valid points from what seems like a very female point of view.:D But the MvsOSU game is in November and so the heat problem.... is right out. Psychology studies would seem to inform that the darker the jersey color the more aggresive a team plays. (Study done on the Oakland Raiders and Pitt. Steelers a while back) This would give M an advantage... yes? Part of the reason I like the change...

I could see doing it for the 100th game a few years ago or in 2006 when we were #1 and #2 - something special. But just to do it for no reason takes away from tradition.

I guess it doesn't make to much of a difference, but I don't see a reason to change things just for the sake of change.

I dont see what tradition it would be effecting? Since when is it a tradition to wear white for home games? Its not tradition its necessity to be able to differentiate between the 2 teams. Since Michigans blue is nothing like UOS red then I see no reason why it couldnt be done

I've learned over the years that learning to think like a female has its advantages. Sure, I think it would be an advantage to wear blue against Ohio State away. But you also stated in your opening post that both teams would have to agree to it. I doubt OSU would agree to it if they think it gives us an advantage. Also, this would apply to every game, not just Ohio State. Additionally, what constitutes a contasting color? Obviously red contrasts with blue. So that would also apply to Indiana, Wisconsin, maybe even Michigan State.

Well, maybe it's just me but I HATE the white jerseys. I don't care who we're playing, the white is seriously stupid looking. This goes for OSU too,... you suckeyes looks really lame in white too. I mean, just look at that pic of Tom Brady in the banner at the top of the page.... LAME!
