Pete is trying traditional (http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=884340)
Good move or stupidity?

Good move, IMO. He's got to keep his players interested and one way is to play to the tradition of the rivalry, since the talent discrepancy between this year's teams is so wide. Living here in LA I can say the magnitude of the rivalry is diminished with UCLA being down.
I did notice, however, that the UCLA QB has improved a bit through the year. Much like M QBs, the kid was in over his head but kept plugging away. I don't think he is up to the task of beating SC, but he'll strap on the head gear and give it his best. Reminds me a bit of Sheridan, but may have developed more. Probably says more about the kid than coaching, but Norm Chow is pretty darned good with QBs.

Giving up 2 TOs just to wear a home uni? Come on Pete, focus on the X's and O's and quit getting distracted or UCLA is going to bite you like Ore St did.
