Ohio State freshmen offensive linemen Mike Adams and J.B. Shugarts will appear in court this week to face a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, The Columbus Dispatch is reporting.
The players were cited Jan. 14 after being pulled over for running a stop sign. They weren't arrested and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
"Adams has a pre-trial hearing set for Monday and Shugarts for Wednesday, both in Franklin County Municipal Court. The charge is a fourth-degree misdemeanor, punishable by a maximum of 30 days in jail and a $250 fine."
Both players were heralded recruits hampered by injuries last season. They had been expected to contend for starting spots when spring practice begins April 2.
No word yet on any disciplinary penalties for either player.

THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF JIM TRESSEL KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON HIS KIDS, THESE GUYS ARE TWO VERY GOOD PEOPLE , THEY BOTH COME FROM GOOD FAMILYS , IF THESE 2 ARE PULLIN THIS SSHIT ,I CAN ONLY AMAGINE WHAT THE REST OF TRESSELS TEAM IS DOING, AND YOU KNOW WHAT TRESSEL WONT DO one thing because it could affect the chance to win football games and we all know tressel puts himself first and everyone else last.. one of these days your savior is going to get popped for violation and i cant wait..

Just the sort of family values atmosphere that Boren is looking for at tUOS. Big Baby draws the line at getting yelled at, but what harm is there in a little drug abuse amongst his fellow lineman?

Ricky and The Michigan Man would have you believe that driving through a stop sign and smoking a joint from time to time (or owning drug peraphernalia) is comparable to sodomizing a kid or committing murder.

osu steve, you dont believe that for one second, but you must be starting to question your supposed leader jim tressel, i said it first ,and ill remind you when it happens ,your ohio state team for 2009 is not done getting in trouble, just remember under tressel they have had 32 kids get arrested, over the 9 years , pathetic

Calm down.
They weren't high, someone would have gotten a DUI (called OVI in Ohio) but that didn't happen.
The kid ran a stop sign, and the cop who pulled them over spotted something in the car (which by the way wasn't theirs). Could have been papers, could have been a pipe, could have been hemostats. They didn't have any drugs with them either. Most likely they will just get a ticket.
It could have been faaaaaaar worse, I mean they could be spending time in jail like former Michigan Man Mallet for public intoxication. The dude looks blitzed in his mug shot.... oh man!

Same with you - how pathetic. Wishing these guys would get suspended even though all they did was crash a red light. Don't worry they will be on the field when we kick your ass in November.

No. Shugarts and Adams at tackle. Boren and Cordle/Browning at guard and Brewster at center.

Don,
Thanks - I really look forward to seeing Boren start against Michigan. I hope he remains healthy and demonstrates his superior athletic prowess until the game.

"We"? Exactly what position to do you play on the team? Not a player? What year did you graduate? Not alum? Shut up with the "we".

Don,
Are you confident that Boren will start and be one of your leaders on the O-line this season? After all, I do believe that OSU graduated a lot last year - and Boone was probably the senior leader on OSU's O-line last year.

I thought Nut said last season that Boren would never even be a starter at OSU because of all the talent you guys have on the O-line.

It's rather hard to keep a former 5 star recruit and All Big Ten performer on the bench. He'll have good competition with Browning and Cordle though. Browning will be at his natural position at guard, he was never comfortable at the tackle position.

Wow - didn't realize how much OSU lost on their o-line. Good thing Pryor is mobile because he'll be running for his life. He maybe out for the season after USC. Better hope that back-up doesn't break a hip.
