I think were set at QB. Unless Forcier and Beaver are busts which I dont see happening otherwise were really screwed. I think we don't really need Gardner or Bolden next year either we can recruit other key positions seconday and o-line.
But in 2011 we should go hard after Marcus Graham out of Trotwood, OH where Shaw,Roundtree and Moore came out of it's a UM pipeline. Graham is a dual QB with 4.4 speed and big for a sophmore already. I do know that Jeff Graham is his uncle but big deal family ties don't make him a sure fire tuos commit. He seems to like UM a lot.

I think RR will take a QB nearly every year. We need Gardner next year because he's a top instate recruit, and otherwise he'll just end up at OSU. I don't know if he would be ready to play right away as he's pretty raw, so if he red shirted then he would be two years behind Forcier/Beaver.

I agree. RR has said that he looks for QBs in every recruiting class.

I think we need to focus on quality of QB's, not quantity - though, having sufficient numbers is important. I think that going into this season, the "long term plan" would have been to have had Bass and Mallett. Unfortunately, Bass' injury was career ending - which was a travesty, and Mallett was (is) just a head case, IMO.
I have great respect for the efforts that Sheridan and Threet put in this season - but, they may not have the natural ability that other well known Div 1A QB's have - McCoy, Bradford, etc. And, for those naysayers who have been knocking RR - why don't you pick up the phone and ask Les Miles what its like to break in a freshman QB.
So, going forward, I hope that we're "spaced" with four solid QB's. The key will be developing them well - balanced abilities to throw the ball, evade pursuit, and pick up a few yards when needed - and have enough depth so they can learn the offense and if an injury to the starter occurs, we don't face a drastic reduction (or change) in offensive production. I don't expect a back-up to be as good as the starter, but I would like to see them know and be able to execute 50% of the playbook - I think we were using between 10 and 20 % of RR's book this season.
