Elite programs don’t cower in corners when faced with a challenge, which is exactly what Ball State did Wednesday when it declined an invitation to play Boise State in the Humanitarian Bowl.

I give Ball State credit, why does bsu get to play a home game? I am tired of all these teams getting to play at home for their bowl games. Is bsu that awesome that they can't travel somewhere and play as a visitor as well?

BSU will travel somewhere to play, I think they will now go to the Holiday Bowl. This was just the only way to set up a game between the 2 undefeated mid-majors. Yes, it happened to be on the smurf turf, but so what, Hoke 'n' Co wussed out on this one.

I guess that I don't understand why they couldn't play some other place? Hell there is 1400 bowl games, they can't play in the 40 Wink Sleepy time bowl in ass crack California, or Bikini Bottom Flordia?

I also don't blame Ball State. Its not a BCS bowl, its in the frigid north and its on the home turf of the team you're playing. You're better off in that situation not to anger your conference or conference affiliated bowls.

Have Boise State play Ball State some place neutral. Why is the game at Boise State?

Because the BCS is a joke.

Anyone watch that 'reasons you can't blame the BCS' thing on ESPN?

Because the BCS is a joke.

I agree, need something new. But, it has to make more money then the current BCS system.

Now I just feel bad we didn't hire Brady Hoke, he would have consistenly refused to go to the Rose Bowl, because it was in USC's backyard...or the Cap 1 Bowl, because its in SEC territory...

I guess I don't understand why Boise State would have a bowl game there? I mean it's got to be the weather or something like that right? I am saying that it's already hard enough to travel and play, but then to go to a teams home field and play in a bowl game is just wrong. Why should one team have the advantage from the start?

Why not have Boise go to the Motor City Bowl? The Big 10 wont have enough teams to fill that spot anyways.... oh wait, that would be fair, and Boise was looking for another home game.
