Baseball season is coming fast and the first Tigers game is Monday. They just released Sheffield, and are going to have Rick Porcello and Ryan Perry start in Detroit. How do you think the Tigers will do this year?

I believe the bullpen will make or break the season. They have the hitting as everyone knows, and with the cut of Sheffield, it gives the team more versitality. I think the starting rotation will be much better this season as I see Verlander bouncing back and the addition of Edwin Jackson will help. The bullpen is the big question. If Perry, Rodney, and/or Lyon can be reliable as a reliever or closer, they will be in contention!

Agreed. The pitching was pathetic last year. If these rookies can step up like the newbies in '06 the Tigers shouldn't be nearly as ridiculous as last year.

Tough first series for the season. The Tigers should have won two if not three of the four games in the series. The good news is Porcello, Edwin Jackson, and Miner all seemed fine on the mound. The bats looked good too (Cabrera is looking like the MVP), with the exception of Adam Everett who is a joke.

The problem once again is Verlander and the bullpen. I think Verlander will be able to bounce back, but that bullpen is WEAK. Brandon Lyon is crap for a closer or even for a reliever. We'll have to see how Rodney and Perry will do at the end of games now.

The next two series are very important in my opinion. If the Tigers can get back to .500 or better after playing the Rangers and White Sox, then I think they can compete. If the bullpen plays like they did in Toronto, then Tiger fans will be in for a very long season.
