This would be a great pickup at a position where they need plenty help..

i love larry foote ,but is he thinking straight , i mean your talkin about the worst football franchise in the history of the game..

his career is doomed if he signs with the lions. i would rather have him retire now, while he is on top. Then return to Ann Arbor for a masters degree and be a graduate assistant for the football team.

Can you imagine sometime in the near future, both Mike Hart and Larry Foote on the coaching staff? They'll probably hold a daily press conference just to take jabs at Dumbtonio :D.
Knowing Foote, his passion for his HS, for Michigan, I think this sentiment has more to do with his roots here. Money is obviously not going to be an issue, and he already has two Superbowl rings. I know its still early to be thinking on these lines (he's only 28!), but it seems like he really wants to come back here.

why not bring back former greats that know what they are doing and let them teach "today's current player" It would help them jump start their coaching career if they choose to have one. Tyrone Wheatly, one of my top 3 all time favorite runnings backs I watched growing as a kid is the current RB coach at EMU. If Desmond Howard ever decided to give up broadcasting and go into coaching, I have no doubt in my mind that we would give him a job.
