I've been following the Eastern Conference playoffs as well as the Wings action, and there's something that the announcers have been repeating for a while that I just can't stomach - and it all started last year leading into the Finals.
It seems as though the announcers have a love for Sidney Crosby that can only be compared to "massive man love" - similar to what SB, Nut, Don, and a few others have for the Buckeyes. These announcers have been talking about how "absolutely great" he is. I have to differ with their assessment - I do believe that Crosby's a good player - but, he's not the next Gretzky - nor, IMO, even the best player in the game today.
I do think that Ovechkin will outshine him in the series between the Penguins and the Caps.
What do you think?

I can name 5 players better than him yet get 1/3 the press man love. The reason he gets the coverage is that he speaks good english and the women love his looks.

yes, he is that good, on a not very good team, who he carries to the playoffs every year, think lebron james, dan marino, and a little guy you are all familiar with, barry sanders, who didn't always carry detroit to the post season but was almost solely responsible for several lions wins, back when they had at least an average defense.

As expected ESPN has now claimed that the debate is over and Sid is better than Alex O.
