Love or hate Terrelle, ESPN knows that people tune in to hear about this kid. I think TP will fill the void left by Tebow. To be honest, I don't really care what they say about Terrelle. I know what he can do and I know that if we win games, a large part of it will be because of what Terrelle Pryor does.

I don't love or hate Lebron James. I basically look at him objectively, as I did with Jordan, as a great player, but not someone that I will ever cheer for.
I don't see Cleveland as a championship team. There are some good role players, but Wallace is too used up to be that Horace Grant type of rebounder / defender, Booby / West are no BJ Armstrong, and there is no one even remotely resembling a Scottie Pippen (if you want to analyze it from the standpoint of what Jordan required on his team to finally start winning championships). If the Boozer debacle hadn't happened, this could very well be a championship team.
The Cavs haven't been playing anyone yet in this year's playoffs, so crowning them as "great" or "champs" is very premature.

Nut,
When I read what you wrote - It made sense, surprisingly. LeBron - known for those high arching threes. And, with Pryor throwing the ball - it'll be the same thing - high arching threes - the result of Pryor throws will be field goal attempts -3 point each.
There's no doubt that Pryor's got wheels. At this point, I don't think there's any substantial argument to convince a lot of people that he doesn't have an arm.
High arching threes - just like LeBron - remember that come fall...

Michigan does not have one difference maker on their roster - period. TP has the ability to completly take over a game and win it by himself. The experience that he gained last year will be the difference this year. The game will be much slower for him which will make him faster and more dangerous. Enjoy the next 3 ass kickings.

Only thing standing in their way is Florida who is really looking awesome this year. The only question for Florida is are they the same team without Percy Harvin, I have my doubts. I like the comments from these UMer's. They are all talking about TP as tough he was a senior last season who did'nt quite live up to expectations. Very good, but not great. I know it's hard for you to do, but try to remember that this guy is only a freshman. He'll only be a sophmore {who lost a lot of key people to the NFL last month} when this season begins, but OSU does have fantastic strength training facilities & coaches. Let's wait until this guy has matured to fairly judge him. Remember too that the more words you put on the table, the more you may have to EAT later.
The kid is a winner. Who is the most recent high school kid you can remember who was the main reason that his high school won State Championships in both football and basketball in the SAME year? Keep talking!

you, also the fucking moron, still haven't been able to accept michigan went and hired a coach who runs schemes that tressel doesn't stop. name 1 team that runs the spread option that he has been able to compete with, lets see, theres, uh no, then, wait, sorry pussy bitch, its just not in the cards. a non passing QB, whos not smart enough and playing for the worst team in the nation at developing QB talent is not going to all the sudden become a prolific passer who can't be stopped, he's going to be figured out, which already happened and be in for a very very long career full of losing. as for michigan's defense, at least rodriguez has the balls to try to find a coordinator that fits the team instead of sit on one(see heacock) whose defense plays like a pop warner team against any other team who has their shit together. ohio state is a joke, they win in a conference where the best team, which is and always has been michigan, let a coach who was no longer interested in coachind drag down the program. but even in that state, they could still win bowl games against teams other than ND. you do, thank god, get to watch ohio state follow that same decline which really has already began. so don't run away in the next few years when ohio state is in the shitter yet again, everyone here has already seen it coming and tried to warn your stupid ass. talk with you later pussy.

he's already crying like a bitch and making up stories of michigan players making fun of him. he also is beginning to realize ohio state will NEVER be able to develop his passing. that doesn't exactly bode well for his career or ohio states future.not to mention ohio state doesn't have 1 legitimate QB prospect considering them. lets see, who does this remind me of, lloyd carr and michigan, yeah, thats it.

Being a Detroit fan in Cleveland is just amazing. I am amongst the most dysfunctional fans in all of sports, with generations of poor saps who have never witnessed their team winning a world championship.
After Cleveland swept the Pistons and the Hawks, I heard so much ridiculous "we are the champions" bullsh*t, as if it was a foregone conclusion that the Calves were going to win it all. I kept telling them that this is not a championship team and Brown is not a championship coach. All Brown does is call plays for James, and if he can't get a good look he'll pass it with a few seconds on the shot clock and let someone else play. West, Williams, and Gibson aren't clutch players, Z is soft and is probably the only 7+ footer on the planet that can play an entire game without blocking a shot.
When the game is on the line, the ball goes to James, where he either tries to plow his way to the basket or chucks up a 3 pointer. He is a great player, but he is no Michael Jordan, so let's stop with that comparison

I agree that it's impossible to make a comparison at this stage of Lebron's career. LeBron’s first season in the league was as a teenager. Furthermore, since it is so early in LeBron’s career, it's obvious that you need to wait and see exactly where he stands in comparison to “Air Jordan”. For now, LeBron is on a very close pace with Michael.

I just don't see the "basketball intelligence" in Lebron that I did in Jordan. It seems like Lebron just plows his way to the basket and depends on the refs, where Jordan was more of a slasher who could find a lane to the basket (in an era when the fouling was more harsh).
Jordan also was more cold blooded, where it seems like Lebron gets flustered, as he did in game 4 with all of the turnovers, air balls, and missed FTs. It is true that Lebron will get better, but I think that Jordan was the greatest of all time, something that Lebron most likely won't achieve, IMO. (I say this without bias, as a Detroit fan who has watched both of them torch my team on numerous occasions).

05-29-2009, 12:18 AM
Jordan also redifined his ability as a player when needed. When he came into th eleague he was known as an offensive player only. He worked on his defense so hard that he became a perinial 1st team defense year after year and even won a defensive POY award. Most of his career he was known for his explosive slashing and spectacular ariel assaults. When he went back to the Bulls after his 1st retirement his ability to do so was more limited as he was starting to age. Up until his 1st retirement he was not known as a great shooter, when he came back he developed a great mid-range fade away jumper and was just as dangerous as before only now you didn't know if he would shoot it or go to the basket. He evolved his game in order to take away his weaknesses.

I have to break ranks (partly) with my Buckeye brethren on this one. TP can't pass; and I'm not sure he ever will be able to improve with respect to that aspect of his game. His mechanics are absolutely piss poor, and I don't know if he is capable of checking his ego at the door to scrap what he's done his whole life to make the necessary changes to fix those mechanics.
I'm not an NBA guy so I can't fairly judge the comparison to James. That being said, the way a lot of people have carried on about TP, you'd think he was destined to be the Tiger Woods of college football. Now that was a guy who changed his entire game around where he had deficiencies to become the top golfer in the world. Woods was capable of checking his ego. I'm not sold TP can do the same.
As far as the next three years are concerned, I don't see a U of M victory until at best the third year - too much ground to make up.

we've been trying to say this for years now. ohio state and jim tressel being no exception, has never been able to develop QBs. facts are facts. he's heading down carr's path step for step. won a championship with another coaches players, beat his rival for a while, very soon to end. if you don't believe that, go back and watch how ohio state plays against good spread teams then be stupid enough to tell me rodriguez can't coach. then tressel is loyal to coaches who bring the program down, i.e. heacock, your QB coach, and Offensive coordinator. pretty much a mirror image.

While there is some merit in what you are saying, I think you're atually overlooking the biggest reason for UM victory over FL: UM scored 41 points. The D had nine new starters that year and gave up almost 28 ppg. Compare that to the low teens ppg of both championship years and I think you see why UM ran over the FL D and won the game. The D is going to be STOUT this year; go ahead an book it. Won't have to score as many points to win, but I think Percy leaving may actually force FL to be more diversified and more dangerous on O. We have great weapons (don't get me wrong, I love Percy; he was a first down machine) that are waiting to be used more. Can't wait to see Dubose too.

But I'll still be far younger than you.
Besides now I'm in children's ministry and they help keep me young. :D
Believe me, that won't make 50 "feel" any better!
Don't try to kid me I've taught both adult and children's Bible classes and both will help make you old before your time if you do it as long as I have.

But you can't go backwards!
You have thought about 50 have'nt you????
It's not your age that really matters anyway if you are prepared to die. If not then age matters a whole lot. It matters more with each passing minute and the clock is "TICKING"!
Even at age 29 minutes or 29 years we are not promised "tomorrow'!!! {I assume you were making reference to age 29}
The 40's will flash before your eyes before you even know they're gone, and your 50's will just be a BLURR, JUST ask anyone who has been there!
You'll understand soon enough.
