One receiver who could be a key to the Giants’ plans this year is Mario Manningham, last year’s third-round pick whose rookie season was ruined by injuries. The Giants still have high hopes for him and he could be the big-play threat so many think the team is lacking.
“I think he’s definitely a guy that’s champing at the bit to be able to get out there and show what he can do, to put it all together both mentally and physically,” Sullivan said. “The things that Mario brings to the table are an elusiveness, a quickness from a run-after-catch standpoint. He has very good play speed. He catches the ball very well. I think we all saw some of the brief exposures he had in the preseason games. When we did get those glimpses of him, I think we all saw the great potential that he has.”
