Ball State just lost the MAC 24-42 to Buffalo! Still kind of in shock over that.

Guess they won't get that BCS bowl invite now.
Maybe they outta take Boise State up on their offer now since they won't be getting the Motor City Bowl either.

Although I expected them to win, losing wasn't much of a surprise. Their biggest win of the season was against 3-9 Indiana. They hadn't really been tested.
It will be interesting to see how far they drop in the polls.
12. Ball State 12-0
13. Cincinnati 10-2
14. Oklahoma State 9-3
15. Georgia Tech 9-3
16. Georgia 9-3
17. Boston College 9-3
18. BYU 10-2
19. Oregon 9-3
20. Missouri 9-3
21. Michigan State 9-3
22. Northwestern 9-3
23. Pitt 8-3
24. Florida State 8-4
25. Virginia Tech 8-4
I see them winding up between BYU and Oregon, but honestly don't think they could beat any of the teams on that list.

WOW, they lost to Buffalo? I guess that is why things are determined on the field in all sports EXCEPT the corrupt BCS games.

Did anybody really think that they were the #12 team in the nation to begin with ? In my opinion they are not even a top 25 team.

In that we are in total agreement. Boise State and Utah may deserve consideration but Ball State, no I don't think so.

The announcers were saying in the game that when the Buffalo coach was offered the job, he hadn't ever heard of Buffalo. And that when they go recruiting, they have to bring "evidence" that Buffalo is actually a Division 1-A school, because people don't believe them

He will be getting phone calls from bigger schools soon. He was really emotional after the win, he could barely talk. I like that in a coach, he was "speechless" and had a lot of passion for players and coaching staff for Buffalo...Good for them!

i would rank them just ahead of ohio state, as they say in c/bus if we wouldnt have fumbled 4 times we would have won, also they would say the officials were bad ,

I would say that they are still a top 25 team, but not #12, maybe somewhere in the 18-25 range though.

Look at the teams ranked 18-25 and tell me who you think Ball State could beat. They played well in the regular season in a conference that was down this year. I could name you 5 or 6 Big Ten teams that would beat Ball St - not to mention SEC, PAC 10, Big East. ACC and Big 12 schools.

i could name you 5 or 6 teams in the big12 or sec that could beat ohio state, and guess what we are all going to get a chance to see it happen when ohio state gets their assss handed to them by texas or bama, osu getting a beat down is better than new years

Good thing we didnt hire Brady Hoke. Ball St is weak and the MAC, unfortunately, is weak as well. They dont even stack up to the MWC or WAC. It hurts me to say that considering that I attended both CMU (Motor City Bowl champs 2 of 3 yrs) and graduated from Toledo. And NO I did not enjoy the fact that the rockettes beat UM.

I heard that Syracuse was going to interview Turner Gill. And, that he might be interviewing with Auburn too (or was that Hoke)?

Auburn got permission from Buffalo to speak to Gill...
