Just heard that UM will face UF tonight in the CWS for softball (or whatever they call it). I've never really followed the sport, but local sports talk shows have kept us posted all year after UF's suprising run last year. I haven't watched any games yet, but I'm aware that UF has been number 1 virtually all season. The SEC has had a strangle hold on the top 5 all year, but went through the ringer yesterday in Oklahoma. UM shut out Alabama yesterday, one of the teams that has beat Florida this year. It should be a good matchup tonight. I know it's not football, but Florida fans always keep their eyes on sports where they have a chance to bring home a title.

Yeah, its always fun once the NCAAs start narrowing down. It should be a great game, they totally hammered Bama yesterday.

In a related note, UM made the Golf NCAA Final Four today, playing Texas AM tonight. Again, bunch of southern teams and UM. I see a pattern developin.

Yeah, UF was a little down in golf this year. Good luck to you. I'm afraid I'll have to root against you tonight though.:)

Gator,

I like your comments - and hope that you didn't take my reference to the Citadel out of context in another thread. I hope that the Maize & Blue play tough and win in both sports - softball and golf. I actually can't believe the golf team has gone this far - I'll need to check into that one...

P.S. One of my best friends went to grad school at Florida - and our "competitive rivalry" is always strong, and usually respectful...

Oh no, I didn't think anything of your comments. I wouldn't get into that kind of arguement with you. That particular post was specifically for bleedmaizeandblue. He just criticized the hell out of Florida's schedule one day and used it to marginalize their recent championship (citing specifically that Citadel game). Ever since then, I've just done everything to point the facts out to him. I'm the one that's always hoping my comments don't get taking out of context....posting on a UM site and all. I like almost everyone here....even some of the O...S...U....people.....uhhh...there I said it. I was only referencing your comment to show what I think is a discrepancy - schedule one tough OOC game and your schedule is great, play 4 or 5 ranked teams in your own conference and you get ripped if you didn't play a top 25 OOC opponent. No worries, mate.

Softball tees off, well that's the wrong sport, get's underway in about half an hour on ESPN 2. 9:30 I think.

Well guys, tough luck in that Georgia game. That was a heck of a game. I actually watched that game because you guys were in it and it was an SEC opponent as well. I thought UM had a great team this year; had me on the edge of my seat during that FL game. When things were tied with FL, I knew it could turn on one bad pitch or great swing; things just went FL's way instead of yours. Nothing to be ashamed about; your team showed well. Congrats on your year, sorry there couldn't be a UF/UM rematch.

Wow! Anyone just catch that elimation game between FL and Alabama. FL was down 3 runs with 2 out in bottom of seventh with bases loaded....walk-off GRAND SLAM! Wow! I almost felt bad for Alabama. I probably would feel bad if hadn't felt like every small break up to that point in the game had gone for Bama. Just inches here and there got them a 4 run inning...I think in the 4th. It just didn't seem to be in the cards for FL; one of those kinds of games. Then wham!....a walk-off grammy. First time ever really watching WCWS; it's pretty good stuff.
