UM said they want this to be special. I'm sure they won't bring in a Top 10 team like USC.

Cincinnati? It's a risk. But hopefully Michigan will be better by that time. And if they did beat them it would show Ohio State that Michigan isn't afraid to play Cincinnati and Ohio State is.

We go to Notre Dame on the Sept.11th. Maybe they will agree to a coming to the Big House 2 years in row in exchange for 2 straight at their dump. But I doubt it.

Call me crazy, but why not play tUO$ in the first game of the season just once? It would be huge for the rivalry, and I bet the nation will be watching.

hmmm... maybe it could be
The Univeristy of Chicago???
I know they have no football team anymore, but such an historic meeting would echo the rivalry of the past. As we all know, before the MvsOSU rivalry there was the MvsUofC rivalry about which our glorious fight song was written.
Now that would be amazing...

I hope it's a top team or at the very least---somebody worth playing. If we are strong (not just 2010, here on out!) but the rest of the conference is somewhat weak(current rep) by losing the big/important games, what good does that do?
Unless the BIG TEN wins there out of conference games---QUALITY ones, we(including the B10) will never make it to the BCS championship if there is an undefeated team from both-- the PAC10 and the SEC---maybe even two one loss teams at the rate this is going....
Well, anytime soon that is. I don't know, I guess it's possible, but only if things start changing. Michigan and the B10 are pretty much what I care about most when it comes down to it--- whether it's the BCS system or not. I can only hope it will get better and no matter what happens, I will always...ALWAYS...be a Michigan fan.
Things might be a little different for me if certain events haven't taken place the last handful of years.
I don't know about you guys(I think most would agree though!! :) ), but I'm out for blood this time around. There are a few conferences/teams (and even sports announcers) that need knocked off their high horses sooner rather than later.
I bet the football team feels the same way. ;)
GO BLUE!

NO, you're crazy. I think there would be much opposition to that move.

The AD has shown a reluctance to shedule marquee OOC opponents so I dont think that we will see a USC or Texas game but I would expect to see some type of top tier team. At least I can hope. For the opening game of the revamped stadium I want to see LSU or Florida. Maybe South Carolina or Auburn, Oklahoma or Oregon. I dont think any of those will happen but I can dream cant I?

This is from a member over at mgoblog:
I sat with Bill Martin at lunch today. He said that he tried to get Minnesota (as a non-conference game) for the opener in 2010 but they declined. Aside from that he said it will be a BCS school but still yet unknown.

Oh how I would love to return the ass beating they gave us at the Citrus Bowl.
I'm sure they would want a home and home, but will we agree to that? I hope so.

You are not alone. It's hard not to think about how great of a win that would be for the program.

I'm going to go ahead and throw Arkansas out there. They've shown a willingness to schedule tough OOC opponents recently. They had USC in 2005 and 2006 (or 2006 and 2007). The travel is about as short as possible for an SEC opponent. They're also on the rebound like UM. They've got a storied second year coach like UM. I would tune in.

Arkansas - particularly with Mallett as the QB would be very interesting indeed. As someone else stated - the Hogs are willing to play tough teams - and the distance between Fayetteville and Ann Arbor is under 900 miles - and, Hogs fans will travel. It could make for one of the Campus visits by the GameDay crew.

I know it probably wont happen in my lifetime but I would love to see Michigan play a home and home with WVU. It would be awesome to have West Virginia come to AA next year to help open the new stadium. That would be Gameday material fo sho!
