"Alabama could be forced to vacate as many as 21 football wins that came under the watch of former coach Mike Shula and current coach Nick Saban, sources at the university told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach. Citing a source, the Birmingham News reported the number of victories to be at least 10."

You wanted Saban, you got em'!

Couple of things here. Are you sure about the no tv and no bowls? I haven't heard anything mentioned about that. In fact, Saban said he was just glad the punishment wouldn't affect any of the current players or future recruits. I would think no bowl games and no tv certainly would affect current and future players. Just being on probation doesn't mean you are denied tv and bowls because Alabama has been on probation almost this entire decade.

I'm not a fan of Saban, but to his credit, he found out about it midway through his first season and immediately suspended the players involved for four games. That was right when their SEC schedule was heating up. From what I can gather, the vacation of wins only covers the games the ineligible players participated. The players were ineligible from when they first received the illegal benefits to when they were suspended an reinstated. No wins from last season will be vacated. Nearly the entire two last seasons of Shula will be wiped out. Only the first 6 under Saban. I know nobody can really stand Saban, but I don't think it is absolutely fair to pin this all of this on him. I think he acted responsibly once he found out what was going on.
