Since, no one else started it. I got hell on a UF thread for saying I wasn't that upset about it. The guy was talented but a freak.

Any thoughts?

Very surprising. Reports are saying it may have been cardiac arrest. Him and Farrah in the same day.

Yeah, kind of suprising.
I was trying to think about other days when famous people died on the same day. Didn't it happen a few years ago?
The only thing I can think of right now is Jon Adams and Thomas Jefferson.

Crazy. Freak and all aside, the guy made some great music while I was growing up, invented the moonwalk, and was overall a good performer. He'll be missed.

There is growing proof in the intelligent community that Michael Jackson was murdered by the current Iranian regime. They had to get the media off of the revolution in their country. The perfect solution. Worldwide, every media outlet will cover nothing but the life and death of Michael Jackson for the next two weeks. The Iranian revolution will be lucky to get any mention in the Pennysaver.

I know that I'll never forget "Thriller." My brother used to lock me in a dark room with that LP playing when I was a child. I used to be so scared of that song....you can't buy memories like that.:D

Your brother locked you in a dark room playing Michael Jackson music? What kind of memories are those exactly?

LMAOROTF!!!
Well, he stood outside scratching the door and making terrible noises. That crap gave me nightmares about a fictional character name Thriller that would come out from under my parents bed and grab me.

Gator, don't be afraid. Now take this anatomically correct doll and show us what they did to you. You're among friends here. We'll help you.

Well, at that time, there were only a few responses that told me to stop talking garbage about him and to show some damn respect. All I said is that I don't think I would really miss him and he was a freak. I also said it was a shame b/c he had so much promise early in his life. That was probably the first 3 or 4 posts. Eventually, others seemed to support my view to the point of about 70/30. Finally, the post were not really about remembering him but more of a debate about whether or not he was a pedophile. I guess that was partially my fault because I eventually posted the article about sleeping with boys (first post in this thread). He had some good music and some incredible dance moves, but I find it hard to believe he didn't molest some of those kids. Didn't really appreciate him much after that.

Jim Rome did the best Michael Jackson ever with alarms going off when people went near the bed room.

I recently lost a close family friend to sudden cardiac arrest and he was only 49. I feel for those in his family or were close to him and are grieving the loss. 49, 50 .... it's too damn young.
I concede he was eccentric, and perhaps freakish depending upon how you define the term. That being said, I've never been comfortable with the jokes and allegations of child molestation. Part of me thinks they may be true given his eccentricities, yet another part of me thinks he just may have been a really good target for somebody looking to score a payday.

Sorry, but ultimately, the life expectancy for all of us is 0%, and people who do some of the things that MJ did do not get a free pass simply because they have passed away.

MJ was a millionaire - therefore the justice system he existed in was much different than your average person's. There was no way this guy was getting convicted and going to prison, period. He paid a lot of boys a lot of "go away" money, spending millions to keep his ass out of jail. Those are not the actions of an innocent man, IMO.
He certainly was a target, and I'm sure that a few of the accusations were concocted by parents looking for a quick payday. But where there is smoke, there is fire, and there was a hell of a lot of smoking coming out of that creepy Neverland Ranch...

I liked some of Michael Jackson's music and felt he was a great entertainer. I even liked some of his eccentricities (like wearing pajamas to the courthouse and having his body guard hold an umbrella over his head).
However...all the people who are standing outside the Apollo theater, his house, and holding vigils in his honor need to get a life and a job. The man is dead. Move on. Please find something else to do!

Just what the City of Los Angeles needs right now - a multi million dollar funeral event paid for by tax payers. The state and several of the cities are almost broke - now this. Why can't you just stick him in the ground just like anybody else. Did Elvis or John Lennon need all this attention ? No.
Hell Princess Diana was just as well known and she had a very classic funeral. It was not untill some time passed that there was a charity event held to say goodbye and to raise money for her foundations.
These people chased Michael into the shadows while he was alive making him even more ecentric then it might have been otherwise - now they are all worshiping him. Was he guilty of the things he was accused of - nobody will ever know. He will be judged by a higher jury. I do know sometimes that people who are very wealthy do just pay people off instead of fighting them and paying all the court costs - not to mention the time involved.
I just wish the news would go back to the news. Michael you were a great performer and you wrote many great songs. You were also a weird bastard that morphed your body into something you would see in the planet of the apes. I hope you find the peace you never did on earth. Now Goodbye.
