Among the numerous reasons for Ohio State fans to be happy going into the 2009 season, Terrelle Pryor has to top the list.
The sophomore phenom is ready to build on the foundation that he laid for the Buckeyes in '08.
Not since Reggie Bush and Vince Young have we seen an athlete of Pryor's caliber in college football. Sure, Tim Tebow has won two titles and a Heisman since those two dominated the competition, but even Tebow is not on the level of pure athleticism that Terrelle Pryor enjoys.
Behind an experienced offensive line in '08, Pryor was 100 of 165 passing for 1,311 yards with twelve TD's and four INT's. He also rushed for 631 yards on 139 carries with six TD's.
What makes those stats really special is that he was a true freshman in '08.
Now a year older, smarter, and competition tested, Pryor just might have quite a treat in store for the Buckeye-faithful. Sure you lost WR's Robiskie and Hartline, but Ohio State almost always reloads with top-notch, skill position talent.
Pryor is a once-per-decade talent. Combine the quickness and speed of Vince Young, with the elusiveness of Reggie Bush, and the arm of Tom Brady and the result will be something close to Terrelle Pryor.
Pryor is a hybrid player. The kid is just an all-out athlete.
Maybe you call this player-worship. Maybe you'll say I am crazy. Hey, maybe I am, but I know an elite player when I see one. I am not even remotely a Buckeye fan. I just love good college football, and this guy is the very epitome of what is good about the game.
I expect big things from the Buckeyes in '09. Terrelle Pryor winning the Heisman may just be one of those big things.

GO BUCKS!

Arm of Tom Brady? Are you kidding me? He's not even as elusive as Reggie Bush, why not compare him to Barry Sanders while you're at it?

With as many senior QB's and other skill players as are out there this year I just don't see TP even sniffing the Heisman. I say he finishes in the top 10 but not the top 5.

Oh yeah, this sounds like it was written by donny boy and 1nut. Lets see, compare say Colt McCoy to T.P. Who would any of you rather have on your team. If you say T.P. your a homer living a lie. He will never be anything more than an average, at best, passer. Making him a good college qb and that's about it. Actually I believe that he's probably close to peaking as a qb. I will give him credit that he is a hell of a runner and it's damn hard to put a big hit on the guy with that ridiculous stiff arm he has.

The Bleacher Report? Are you f-ing serious? You do realize that the contributors to that ridiculous rag are just everyday fans? I could write up a cock slobber fest on Denard and say the same things and it wouldn't make it any more relevant or accurate than that shit you just vomited on this board.

I don't think you saw TP in the spring game. He has improved his overall ability. He may not win it this year true, but TP will be a finalist and will be sitting in front of the presentation podium in December.

haven't seen many QB's lead their team to a 4 loss season and get heismen consideration.

Didn't look that much vastly improved. There are more serious candidates than TP, if he is sitting in NY its only based on popularity rather than ability. McCoy and Tebow alone should wipe him out as a serious candidate.

Don,

What's the line in Vegas for this? I'll be happy to earn a few quick, easy dollars betting that TP doesn't make the Heisman podium this year.

Or, if you want to put some of your hard earned dollars on the line, let me know - I'd be happy to place a wager on this one.

This hack blogger obviously has never seen TP's horrible throwing mechanics - sounds like he has a man crush on him or something.

So Donny, will he be sitting in front of the podium this December working the teleprompter?

Just thought I'd bring back some of our illustrious trolls claims preseason and see what they think now.

Nice try. True, he most likely will not be in NY in December but last time I checked Heisman finalists need assistance from the entire team. Is there anything in the article that still does not apply concerning Pryor? Thanks for the endorsement.

Anyway, as I mentioned in another thread, our season is in November and Pryor obviously has the ability to lead our team to another Big Ten Championship, BCS bowl and quite possibly POY. Not bad at all.

Funny how UM fans in light of the current collapse of their football program somehow find it necessary to critique Pryor. Jealousy maybe?

Don, just to clarify. We aren't critiquing Pryor, we're critiquing you. (Although, personally, I think you have a better chance at winning a Heisman than Pryor does.)

We should go sniffin' around the archives for some of the shit that was posted back when Michigan was 4-0. Resurrecting a few of those threads would really be good for some laughs.

Its no different than your guys bashing on Tate all the time. Ever since you guys got TP you've been shoving it down our throats about how great he is and how we have no chance at winning with him at OSU. SO to see him struggling merely feeds our ability to throw it back at ya. You could say that you guys are victims of buying into all the hype and still are with your belief that somehow he is going to improve dramatically in the next 2 weeks.

If he couldn't do it against USC, Purdue, Wisconsin, Navy or Illinois what makes you think thats going to change against PSU and Iowa with defenses better than just about all of the aforementioned teams? The secret is out, all you have to do is stop the run and dare TP to throw. If your offense has any ability you should be able to beat OSU. So until TP can bring it against some of the better teams I'm not buying this crap that he could compete for all these awards with a great November. Show me is all I have to say.

TP will never amount to much until Tressel figures out how to utilize him. He is lost...
