View Full Version : Palin Quits as Governor of Alaska

4pm announcement on the Friday of a holiday weekend. I don't think this is a good sign for her. That's usually when the government pr companies dumps bad news to the press in the hope it won't become big news.
She can rationalize the decision all she wants, but if she seeks the White House in 2012, she's going to have a hard time dodging charges of being a quitter.
Seeing as what happened to Senator Ensign and Governor Sanford, two potential 2012 presidential candidates, having their dirty skeletons exposed, I wonder if she ducked out to avoid a similar fate. I don't put anything past the Chicago politics of Obama and the Brown Shirts he has working for him.

Once she decided not to seek after Steven's seat I realized she was done as a national political force, if she ever really was one. Had she not accepted the VP slot and steadily built up her national persona she may have been a darkhorse candidate with a legitimate shot in 2012. Now she's done, not that I blame her with all the national news distractions. Can't hardly go a week without some news on Palin and if there isn't any they'll try to drag out her daughter's babby's daddy.
Good luck to her in the future but she really has little chance of a successful run for President.

And, IMO, she's going to take advantage of the timing and make as much money as she can on the speaker's circuit while she's a "hot" commodity.

IMO, her future is in television (perhaps as a Fox commentator). After all, her major was in broadcast journalism. She will also make a lot of money on a book deal. I am sure she will return to the next Rebublican National Convention to give a speech to rile up the far right of the party.
Many will disagree, but Gov Palin is really not smart enough to be president of the United States. It was very sad to see John McCain (a great statesman and American hero) choose her as his running mate over much more qualified people like Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Tom Ridge, Joe Lieberman, etc. merely for political reasons.

Good point Steve. As you all know I am a big supporter of President Obama and I'm glad we have the smartest of the smart in that position now. While many countries, even Socialist countries, are lowering their taxes to help business so they can get out of the economic free fall, President O. knows that you can tax your way out of a recession. Genius! I also love his handling of North Korea. He is using a tactic that is pure inspiration. As North Korea lobes missile after missile, President O. has gone to the United Nations and lodged complaints. That should take care of that. I am also glad he is pulling us out of Iraq. The Islamic people will start loving us once again and that little escalation into Afghanistan AND Pakistan won't hardly be noticed. He is such a peaceful President, always lending an open hand to a fist-clenched enemy. And in America, no tax increase for anyone making under $250,000. Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

Well this week they've begun saying that the tax increase will in fact affect those making less than $250K. But its all good because that'll pay for our new health care and I think we should all donate 80% of our salary to the gov't so they can take care of us. :D

Barry Hussein will call a press conference and state that me misplaced the decimal point, and that he meant to say he wouldn't increase taxes for those making less than $25k...

ousteve,
I don't disagree with you.
I saw a bumper sticker the other day that made me think for a second, and then smile. The bumper sticker was "1.20.13 - the end of an error".
My only hope is that what is left of the country on 1.21.13 will, in fact, be reparable before I die.

is it too early for "Worst President Ever" moniker, or will it take an extra 4-5 trillion?

I don't know how many of you listen to talk radio, and I don't know if you get the same commercials there that I get here. There is one commercial, however, that I suspect is nation wide. It's some financial course advertisement that has the slogan, "Spend your way to wealth." This is particularly funny because the beginning of the commercial makes an appeal to those already in debt. Apparently, Prez O has taken this course and is a big fan. I don't know if I would call him the worst Prez yet, but I would certainly classify him as the most dangerous...that is if you actually believe in that life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness bit.

I guess my beef with her is that she "owed it" to other conservatives, especially conservative women, to take all the arrows the left threw at her and go on as if they had no effect on her. She did the equivalent of the Democrats exit strategy for war: spill a little blood and treasure and then runn for the hills - only encouraging more of this shit in the future.

How insane is it that Barry Hussein's model for going green is California - 10% unemployment, huge deficits, teetering on being completely insolvent. Yes, Arnie is a Rep, but the whacky congress and judiciary are flaming libbies. And the "change" promised continues to be delivered, in spades...

I don't know, Mike, I think she endured more than her share of spiteful slander from the left. The media has relentlessly, agressively abused her and her family since she was announced as the VP candidate, and the so-called women's lib movement has sat back and done nothing. Where is the similar treatment with ghouls like Pelosi?

100% of all the posts on this part of the site are word for word from conservative talk radio. Any other funny questions?

Not from me I don't listen to any talk radio other than an occasional sports show. I have my ipod playing 95% of the time.

I don't listen but if talk radio is parroting my arguments on unemployment and the Obama economic strategy I will take that as a compliment. At least someone is taking it seriously.

yeah thats great, or is it just the fact that obama blatantly lied his way into the position and is now being exposed as the fraud that the whole country was warned about 8 years ago? its not hard to see whats going on in the country. despite your beloved liberal corporate broadcast stations best attempts to crown this past election a great success, the "fantastic economic" news we here about 24 hours every day suggests otherwise.
