While I don't think Michigan will really compete for the B10 title, the great thing is this year there is no one in the conference we should be intimidated by.

I think Ohio State is ranked a bit high. They are playing very well and Matta has them ready on the defensive end - but 4th in the Big Ten ?

The Buckeyes have some fire power but if the outside shot is cold - they are doomed. They are going to play hard and they will be a tough out but I expect them to win some games that they should not and vise versa. They will be much better late in the year.

i think ohio state has been the second most surpsing team in the big 10. i can't think of any of the teams i ranked below them, save for Michigan and POSSIBLY Iowa, that i see finishing above OSU. unlike many UM fans i really don't hate OSU's basketball team as there isn't much of a rivalry between the two. Granted, if terrel pryor started playing basketball (a la Tai Streets), the hate level might go up a bit.

somebody has to finish behind MSU, Wiscy and Purdue; who's to say it couldn't be UM or OSU?

as long as they beat the teams they should and split with the tough teams, they should be fine for an NCAA berth

The Buckeyes continue to surprise today with a win over a scrappy and always tough Butler squad.

Who exactly is surprised that the #21 ranked tUOS beat the unranked Butler at home?

If Michigan can beat UCLA and Duke, they can beat anyone, including the top teams in the Big-10.

Have you changed your predictions?
I see no reason why this team can't win the BigTen...I'm (almost) as excited for each game this season as I was when the Fab Five came through...honestly though they don't have the same star power they are winning games the Fab Five couldn't (Duke, though it was a completely different Duke team back then too)

The Big Ten is wide open. I think every team has shown that they have flaws. The winner of the Big Ten will be the team that steals a few road wins when they really shouldn't while protecting their home court. Michigan has as good of a chance as Ohio State, MSU and Purdue does. I'm not buying into Ohio State or Michigan just yet. Winning big games on the road is a lot different then winning them at home.

Michigan beat UCLA on a neutral field (MSG), which is somewhat harder than winning at home...

Have you changed your predictions?

no, i haven't changed them. i think they look solid, although to be honest i'm really only concerned about the top 7-8 because they are potential tourney teams.

The Buckeyes just lost Lighty today for what might be the season. He is the leader on that team and the coach when he is on the court. Major blow for the Buckeyes. Our team just got a lot younger.

I feel bad about this one. He was really doing something special up there, but now he is gone. Where is Luke Fickel? How about that big dominant center? Both are freshman. Having a quarterback is important, and OSU just lost theirs. That hurts, but not as much as seeing a ruined senior season. That BLOWS!

Steve, I think it might be time to tweek this a little. Sparty will slip up and were lucky to beat Illinois. Purdue will gather themselves, and 'Sota will drop off. Watch out for Penn State too.

1. Sparty
2. Boiler
3. Bucky Badger
4. Illinois
5. Minnesota
6 Michigan
6. Buckeye
8. Joe Pa U
9. Iowa
10 Northwestern
11 Whose your team

I think it depends how Buckeye, Michigan, Minnesota Iowa Penn State do in the Big 10 tournament. Two non conference ranked wins for M will weigh in.
