But Rad its not a pro style offense Florida runs. How could a team that doesn't run the pro style be considered a contender? I'm sure they will clobber some slow pro style neanderthal team in the NC game next year. At least it won't be Michigan.

Florida doesn't use undersized 3 star players.

Plus Tim Tebow is amazing right...
I heard earlier today that in a recent pickup baseball game Tim Tebow hit two bases empty grand slams in only one plate appearance...crazy how good he is...

Rad,
Which team are you referring to that uses undersized 3 star players? Perhaps you're thinking that "size does matter" - well, would you rather be walking around with some guy who weighs 320 lbs and a body fat of 25%, or some guy with a body fat of 12% or less - and (let's just say he's an O-lineman) with a weight of 290. As far as football goes - I'd rather have someone who's lean, fast, and strong - rather than someone who's just fat.
Maybe you like a beer belly on a guy....

Rad are you Fucking kidding me? Have you even looked at our recruits and what is coming. A few of those guys in this class will be 4 star or higher by seasons end. We rank right up there with Florida. You are a dellusional moron.

Not to start another one of these FL vs UM arguments here, but currently the UF and UM classes for 2010 are drastically different. That's not to say that UM's recruits won't gain a lot of stars over the next year, but it's not an outlandish statement using the currently available rankings via Rivals (or similar service). Right now FL has 11 recruits graded 4 stars or better, while UM has 4.
OK, now honestly, I really don't want to argue recruiting. Recruiting is important, but it doesn't mean squat until signing day; these kids are 17 and 18 years old and they're going to change their priorities and their schools. Not to mention, that the recruiting services will reevaluate these guys all through the season. Further, just because some guy is a top recruit, it doesn't mean he will ever see the field or be productive if he does. They might just not pan out or they may suffer some catostrophic injury.
In truth, I responded to this thread more out of interest (or a question) about the listings on recruiting sites, like Rivals. I really don't follow recruiting that closely (see reasons above), but I occasionally look to see what FL, UM and a few others are doing. Mainly, I like looking at positions recruited, size, and speed. I also find it interesting to see which schools are recruiting a particular cat, which brings me to my question. When rivals lists the schools that have offered a kid, do they gain visual evidence (or confirmation from those schools) before posting this information? Do they just take the kids word for it? The reason I ask is because Rivals has a UM WR recruit, Jeremy Jackson, listed with a 40 time of 4.65. What is interesting is that Rivals also shows that Jackson received an offer from UF as well but does not indicate who if anyone recruited him. So I'm perplexed because if this guy's 40 time is accurate, the only way he got an offer from FL was in his dreams (at least at WR). Our linebacker recruits run better than 4.65 in the 40 - no way this guy would touch the field as a WR here at FL. Since he is 6'3" maybe he did get recruited by FL as a linebacker or maybe a tight end (also unlikely, since Hernandez ran a 4.51), but no way this kid got recuited by FL as a WR, and I find it a little hard to believe he got recruited at all. Anyone know the process of verification on this type of stuff?

He initially recieved interest from Florida but because he is the son of Michigans running backs coach that interest wasnt returned so Florida moved on. As far as Rivals they will list all schools that are known to show interest in said player and they will then update that with the ones that actually offered with a checkmark and then it will say who is recruiting him
